Jun 28 @ 6:00 am – 6:45 am
Biddeford Saco Boot Camp on the beach @ Fortunes Rocks Beach, Middles Beach, Bath House Beach, in Biddeford Pool | Biddeford | Maine | United States

Boot camp uses interval, circuit, and aerobic training. It will burn fat, tone muscle, improve posture, build strength and endurance, and build confidence. You work out your arms, legs, and core using exercises that incorporate your whole body. Boot camp can get you into the best shape of your life. As one of my campers stated, “I am stronger, faster, and leaner”
A typical day includes a warm up, stretches, the ‘workout’, cool down, a possible game or challenge, and finishing stretches.

Boot camps varying routines are intense sessions that offer a variety of exercises, and challenge every muscle in your body. By rapidly moving from one exercise to the next, with minimal breaks, you can get a cardiovascular workout while simultaneously toning your muscles. And, you burn lots of calories. Its fun, varied, motivating, produces amazing results, and meets at a fantastic location.

Boot camp’s 45 minutes workouts allow you to do strength training and aerobic training in a single workout, which is very efficient when you have a limited time to work out.

Stand-up Paddleboard Yoga @ Portland Paddle
Jun 29 @ 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Tuesdays, 6:30 PM:  Sarah Graham, Wild Craft Yoga
Thursdays, 5:30 PM: Ashley Flowers, Ashley Flowers Yoga

If you enjoy yoga and you like being on the water, you’ll probably have a blast trying out SUP Yoga at the East End Beach this summer. You don’t need to be an expert yogi or an expert paddler. All experience levels are welcome. If it’s your first time there’s a decent chance you’ll get wet, so make sure you dress appropriately! We’ll provide anchors for each SUP so that the entire group can circle around the instructor without floating away.

There are limited spots available for each class, so we strongly recommend signing up ahead of time by clicking on the blue button below or calling 207-370-9730. If we cancel a class due to poor weather conditions you will be given a choice between rescheduling or receiving a full refund. However, we usually go out as long as there’s no steady rain or strong winds. The sea conditions near the beach are different every session, and that’s part of the fun of doing yoga while floating.

PRICE PER CLASS: $28 per student or $18 if you have your own SUP.

FIVE-CLASS PASS: Buy five classes at once for $100 (or $75 if you use your own SUP) You will select the date of your first class when purchasing, and then you can choose the four other dates at any time using a code that will be emailed to you. All unused class credits will expire at the end of the 2017.

Paddle Battle: Maine Lakes Open Paddleboard Race @ Tarry A While Resort
Jul 1 @ 8:30 am
Paddle Battle: Maine Lakes Open Paddleboard Race @ Tarry A While Resort | Bridgton | Maine | United States

This event is the first of its kind in Western Maine and is going to be one massive paddle board of excitement! There is a 2K course for recreational paddlers and a 5K course for the cruizers! There will be real competition but the race is about having fun and raising money to protect Maine’s beautiful lakes. For this very reason, we have added a TWIST . There is a guaranteed way to improve your time that does not involve a specialized diet or hours at the gym. For every $100 of sponsorship raised, we will take a full minute off your race time! Sound too good to be true? Well, maybe it is… But we are doing it anyway! We also know some of you die-hard board enthusiasts will sneer at this idea. But you know what? People pay to win all the time! We are just doing it openly! Hooray for transparency! However, we will still have medals for best (actual) time so don’t stop your core exercises if you happen to be doing them in the first place…

All proceeds from this event will benefit the Lakes Environmental Association, which is a non-profit regional lakes association dedicated to preserving and protecting lakes. If you think Maine is only about lobster and rocky coasts, you’re missing out! It’s time to come see our clear and pristine inland waters from the vantage of a paddle board!
