Biddeford Saco Boot Camp on the beach @ Fortunes Rocks Beach, Middles Beach, Bath House Beach, in Biddeford Pool
May 26 @ 6:00 am – 6:45 am
Biddeford Saco Boot Camp on the beach @ Fortunes Rocks Beach, Middles Beach, Bath House Beach, in Biddeford Pool | Biddeford | Maine | United States

Boot camp uses interval, circuit, and aerobic training. It will burn fat, tone muscle, improve posture, build strength and endurance, and build confidence. You work out your arms, legs, and core using exercises that incorporate your whole body. Boot camp can get you into the best shape of your life. As one of my campers stated, “I am stronger, faster, and leaner”
A typical day includes a warm up, stretches, the ‘workout’, cool down, a possible game or challenge, and finishing stretches.

Boot camps varying routines are intense sessions that offer a variety of exercises, and challenge every muscle in your body. By rapidly moving from one exercise to the next, with minimal breaks, you can get a cardiovascular workout while simultaneously toning your muscles. And, you burn lots of calories. Its fun, varied, motivating, produces amazing results, and meets at a fantastic location.

Boot camp’s 45 minutes workouts allow you to do strength training and aerobic training in a single workout, which is very efficient when you have a limited time to work out.

Miles for Mills 5K @ Kennebec Valley Coaching
May 29 @ 8:00 am
Miles for Mills 5K @ Kennebec Valley Coaching | Augusta | Maine | United States

If you only run one 5K a year, we hope that you will consider joining us on Memorial Day – Monday, May 29, 2017 – for Miles for Mills 2017.

Miles for Mills began in 2012 shortly after SSG Mills was critically injured as an event to support The Mills Family on their road to recovery. Today, it is the Travis Mills Foundation’s signature community fundraiser to raise critical funds to support combat-injured veterans and their families on a similar road to recovery.

This year is the 5th anniversary of Miles for Mills and since SSG Mills was injured! Our ambition is for this to be our biggest and best year yet, and we have a few surprises in store!

The run begins after a presentation of the colors and the national anthem at 8:00 am.

Special thank you to our supporters: Kennebec Valley Coaching, Kennebec Community Church, Augusta Downtown Alliance, Augusta Police Department, and MinuteMan Signs.

Course: We will be running through downtown Augusta, Maine, beginning at 50 Front Street at Kennebec Valley Coaching.

We will run up Front Street, back down Water Street, then about a mile down the Kennebec River Rail Trail. This is a low, flat course that offers speed for competitive participants, and a safe, walkable, family-friendly course for everyone.

Participants: The race is open to runners, walkers, families, and students. For participants under 18 years old, we ask that an adult signs the waiver and participates alongside the minor.

Timing: We will offer race timing this year. Runner packet pickup will be available at Kennebec Valley Coaching before the event.

Fun: KVC will also be offering a 5K for Beginners training program beginning in April to get you ready to run! Each participant receives an exclusive KVC / TMF running shirt!

Support: This year, each participant will receive an optional fundraising page. Participants who raise $100 or more receive a free New Balance t-shirt! There will be limited quantities available for purchase on event day. Your fundraising support helps us complete the retreat and welcome our veteran families to Maine!

Kids: This event is family friendly! Kids may run alongside a registered, participating adult. Please, no pets.

Event Day: Event day registration is $25. Parking is available throughout downtown Augusta.

Prizes: Given to the top male & female in each category and top 3 finishers overall. Highest fundraiser receives TWO VIP TICKETS to the Travis Mills Foundation Retreat Grand Opening!
