If you enjoy yoga and you like being on the water, you’ll probably have a blast trying out SUP Yoga at the East End Beach this summer. You don’t need to be an expert yogi or an expert paddler. All experience levels are welcome. If it’s your first time there’s a decent chance you’ll get wet, so make sure you dress appropriately! We’ll provide anchors for each SUP so that the entire group can circle around the instructor without floating away.

There are limited spots available for each class, so we strongly recommend signing up ahead of time by clicking on the blue button below or calling 207-370-9730. If we cancel a class due to poor weather conditions you will be given a choice between rescheduling or receiving a full refund. However, we usually go out as long as there’s no steady rain or strong winds. The sea conditions near the beach are different every session, and that’s part of the fun of doing yoga while floating.

Foundations of Mountain Biking @ Alternating Wednesdays at Eastern Prom and Stroudwater Trail | Portland | Maine | United States

Skill Classes will be held every other Wednesday from 6-8pm (weather-dependant) on the Eastern Prom, meeting at the WW2 memorial, near the tennis courts and softball fields.

Skills covered to include:

Fit and familiarization with your bike and its controls
Proper body positioning for riding in different terrain
Braking technique and timing
Shifting technique and timing
Climbing and Descending techniques
Trail etiquette

Trail Rides are held the opposite Wednesdays from 6-8pm (weather-dependant) on the Stroudwater Trail. These rides will enhance the skills sessions by reinforcing the use of the skills you’ve learned in real on-trail venues. We will have ample opportunities for group discussion and practice of specific skills, as well as to gain an understanding of the different trails systems available in the area, particularly the great Portland Trails network.

All classes and rides are BYO-Bike and 18+. HELMETS ARE MANDATORY. Also consider bringing water, a snack or two, and appropriate clothing. Check in with the Portland Gear Hub or other local bike shops if you need to rent a bike.

If you enjoy yoga and you like being on the water, you’ll probably have a blast trying out SUP Yoga at the East End Beach this summer. You don’t need to be an expert yogi or an expert paddler. All experience levels are welcome. If it’s your first time there’s a decent chance you’ll get wet, so make sure you dress appropriately! We’ll provide anchors for each SUP so that the entire group can circle around the instructor without floating away.

There are limited spots available for each class, so we strongly recommend signing up ahead of time by clicking on the blue button below or calling 207-370-9730. If we cancel a class due to poor weather conditions you will be given a choice between rescheduling or receiving a full refund. However, we usually go out as long as there’s no steady rain or strong winds. The sea conditions near the beach are different every session, and that’s part of the fun of doing yoga while floating.

PRICE PER CLASS: $28 per student or $18 if you have your own SUP.

FIVE-CLASS PASS: Buy five classes at once for $100 (or $75 if you use your own SUP) You will select the date of your first class when purchasing, and then you can choose the four other dates at any time using a code that will be emailed to you. All unused class credits will expire at the end of the 2017.

The 17th annual Loon Echo Trek is the largest event benefiting the Loon Echo Land Trust! Proceeds from the event and sponsorship help us in our mission to conserve land for future generations.

The 2017 Trek will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Shawnee Peak Ski Area in Bridgton, ME. Hike 4.5 or 6 miles across the ridge line of beautiful Pleasant Mountain, or bike 25, 50, 80 or 100 miles through the scenic hills and valleys of western Maine. Do a bit of both with the Trek’s Hike & Bike option!

This course offers an introduction to stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), an exciting way to explore Maine’s waterways. Some people love SUP because it offers a great core workout, others find it a great way to spot wildlife, to surf waves or just have fun on the water. This course is designed to introduce anyone who’s fairly new to SUP to the many sides of the sport. No prior experience needed. You’ll start on shore learning proper paddle grip, paddling posture and techniques for getting on and off a paddleboard. Once you’re on the water, you’ll learn board balance and strokes that help you move swiftly and maneuver effectively. You’ll also go for a brief paddle along the shores of Casco Bay.

Saturdays, 8:30-10:00 & 10:30-12:00

$40 per person
Rates include use of a SUP and all necessary gear, but you are also welcome to bring your own board.
