CAMP HIKE SUP YOGA Acadia NP Weekend Retreat @ Acadia National Park
Jul 19 – Jul 22 all-day
CAMP HIKE SUP YOGA Acadia NP Weekend Retreat @ Acadia National Park | Maine | United States

oin us this summer for our first Camping Retreat in beautiful, picturesque Acadia National Park! This weekend retreat will consist of 3 nights/4 days of camping, hiking, paddleboarding, yoga and the ultimate connection with nature.

Acadia National Park, located on Mount Desert Island, is a stunning national treasure on the coast of Maine. No matter where you explore in this park, the views are spectacular and nature abounds. No wonder this is one of the most visited parks in all of North America!

Acadia National Park offers hiking, biking, camping, breathtaking views of jagged coastlines, and pristine lakes for the nature lover, adventurer and outdoor enthusiast. More than two dozen mountains rise above the rocky shore, including Cadillac Mountain, which at 1,530 feet is the highest point on the U.S. Atlantic coast. There are more than 130 miles of hiking trails to explore by foot and 45 miles of carriage roads to travel by bike. Also, side note: Acadia is one of the best places on the east coast to view the Milky Way and you will LOVE star gazing by the fireside at night

We will be staying at the KOA Oceanside Campground located in Bar Harbor, situated at the head of Mount Desert Island, just 7 miles from the entrance of Acadia National Park. We offer two options for camping accommodations; Comfort shared Cabins or Oceanview Tent sites.

Comfort shared Cabins: These cabins make a great base camp and will provide you with many of the comforts of home and allow you to fully experience Acadia. Tucked back in the Maine woods but still close to the shoreline, you can walk right out your front door and enjoy the sunset. Cabins are equipped with bedding and all linens, a full bathroom with shower, microwave, refrigerator, sink, keurig coffee maker, outdoor grill, air conditioning, WiFi, fire pit, and a TV.

Ocean View Tent sites: A room with a view! All our tent sites offer an Ocean View. Pitch your 2 person tent near the ocean and watch the sky melt into sunset pastels while you warm by the campfire. Enjoy easy access to the sea for swimming and paddleboarding. Bathhouses, laundry, and hot showers are nearby in walking distance. Leashed pets welcome at your campsite.

Exploration in Art: Hiking and Touch Drawing with Susan Bakaley Marshall and Chris Marshall @ Thirteenth Moon Center | Montville | Maine | United States

Making art is like walking in the forest: we slow down, come back to ourselves, yield to a deeper source of knowing. In this workshop we’ll go walking mindfully on easy to moderate wildland trails of our local land trust through forest and marshland, softening our gaze, opening ourselves to light, pattern, and impressions, welcoming amazement. Then we’ll return to our light-filled studio to do Touch Drawing, a simple yet profound process. Paper is placed over wet paint and the pressure of the fingertips creates images on the underside. Even an unconfident artist can experience the fulfillment of seeing their interior life come alive on paper as multiple new images emerge (view a one minute video at http://touchdrawing.com/touchdrawing/). No art experience is necessary.

“SUP Yoga improves balance, strength, flexibility, and mindfulness! Is it challenging? Yes! If you can stand on two feet, odds are you can stand on a paddle board! This is a great way to challenge yourself to try something new without having to worry about getting hurt. If you fall off, the water will catch you!” ~Ashley Flowers

Each day, we facilitate 2-3 yoga practices to take advantage of the natural rhythms of the body: an energizing morning practice, a mid-day practice and a restorative, relaxing evening practice. We also tailor our yoga practice to complement the season and our outdoor activities.

Adventures in Art: Hiking, Movement & Dance with Shana Bloomstein @ Rangeley Lake | Rangeley | Maine | United States

Shana is excited to be offering a weekend retreat with Nancy Zane that will integrate Yoga, creative movement, massage, visual art and journaling with our explorations of the natural world. This weekend hopes to provide a nourishing and grounding environment for everyone to begin a personal reflective journey into somatic movement, create a simple daily practice incorporating massage, yoga and movement, while being effortlessly inspired and in awe of our natural world. It is through our journeying outside that we hope to feel a peace that will allow integration, processing through creative play and movement and an unfolding into our inner emotional and personal landscapes.

This nature based art retreat is for people who want to explore creativity as a means for self-discovery and reflection. It is a retreat integrating movement and art for self-care and exploration. This is an open and non-judgmental environment to freely explore creative self-expression; self-care rituals, and a peaceful time away to delve deeper into you! We intend to explore the healing potential of our minds, bodies and souls together. This weekend retreat in the transformative Autumn air, will fold in the unique offerings of each individual, and is bound to inspire a spiritual connection to our outer world, while we dive deep and tend to our inner landscapes with love and support.
