Come enjoy an athletic, all levels vinyasa yoga class with Yoga On York on Maine’s beautiful York Harbor Beach. This class is both vigorous and calming. Breathing deeply, moving mindfully…. the soothing sounds of the ocean waves, the poignant smells of salt air, the gentle morning sun (or not), the occasional nibble of a gnat (or not), the sounds of nature, and the visit from a random dog while you are in down dog all make this beach yoga bliss.

At Yoga On York’s Beach Yoga classes you will be clearly guided with verbal queues to bring your attention to healthy body alignment. Various options of the poses are instructed to accommodate all levels of experience. Time to mindfully stretch and strengthen your body, moving to the flow of your deep breathing and the sound of the ocean does wonders for health and wellness! *You should be able to get up and down from the ground with ease to attend this class.

A large tarp is put down on the beach so you get minimally sandy.
Dress in layers, strip down as your body warms up. Wear sunglasses.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check-in and settle in.
We will have extra yoga mats at the beach if you need one.
In case of inclement weather, call 363-YOGA prior to coming to the beach. Class will be canceled if it is raining.

*Important – Parking – All parking along Harbor Beach Road (the road down the hill to the beach and cul-de-sac) is PERMIT PARKING ONLY – Police will ticket; it is a $50. ticket. Open parking is available all along York Street (the main street above the beach).

Discover the joy of the most dynamic, fun and healing outdoor yoga practice! Join us for a beautiful hour of Stand-Up Paddle Board Yoga. Katie will take you out on our lovely harbor waters to work on your balance and core strength on the sea and under the sun.

We’ll provide:

  • SUP boards
  • anchors
  • safety equipment
  • or bring your own (for a lower rate).


Previous SUP and/or yoga experience is NOT required. This SUP Yoga is designed for all levels and will strengthen your paddling and board skills.
The asana practice will work on:

  • building a strong foundation
  • improving your balance
  • discovering the healing power of bringing yoga to the the fluid element of the water.


Class is 75 minutes. Plan to arrive 15-20 minutes early as parking is limited.

Weight minimum is 90 lbs. for safety and to be able to maneuver a 10′ by 33″ stand-up paddleboard.

In the case of inclement weather, classes purchased may be used at a later date. Cancellations must be made within 24 hours to be issued a refund.

​Cost is $40/$25 without equipment.

Physical fitness, yoga and music in a secluded setting on the rocky coast of Maine…can it get much better than that? Venture Outside is pleased to offer this unique and special holistic wellness retreat experience at the perfect location for recharging your body, mind, and spirit.

The Schoodic Peninsula is the “quiet” corner of Acadia National Park, known for its pounding surf, incredible sunsets, and soft spruce-fir cloaked landscape. With miles of hiking and mountain bike trails, a rugged shoreline of both quiet coves and rugged headlands, and miles of quiet paved park road, the Schoodic peninsula in Acadia N.P. provides the perfect setting for this active retreat. In partnership with Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park, this retreat is held entirely within the park, and based from the Institute’s beautiful campus.

We invite you to reconnect to the power of your body by focusing on your physical fitness and well-being. We’ll choose from two activities and bike, hike, and paddle over this two day weekend retreat. We balance physical activity with just the right amount of reflection during and between outdoor excursions. In addition to the outdoor nature-based activities, you’ll practice yoga indoors and out to balance body and spirit, and be treated to restorative and entertaining music performances and chanting.

Explore and immerse yourself in the uninterrupted landscape of green forest, blue ocean, bold shoreline, and big sky. Find healing and inspiration by connecting with nature through simple meditations and interpretive nature “stops.”

COSTS

Total: $460 includes $250 Program Tuition and $210 Accommodations.

Program Tuition includes instructor/guide fees, bike or kayak use and safety gear, and any program materials.

Accommodations include 2 nights lodging and 6 Meals. Lodging will be in double occupancy bedrooms in comfortable and spacious 2- and 4-bedroom apartments at Schoodic Institute.

A Private Room in the 2 or 4 Bdrm Apartment can be reserved for an Additional $20 per night.
