Join Metta Studios Monday nights in Clifford Park for an hour long accessible yoga flow class. Classes are by donation with a portion of all proceeds to benefit the Friends of Clifford Park! All bodies welcome!
Join North Star Adventures for an exploration of Camden Hills State Park. We will start our day hiking the Maiden Cliff trail to the Ridge trail. Enjoy beautiful views of Lake Megunticook and Ragged Mountain. After a rest and re-hydrate we will descend to the the boat landing and paddle to Fernalds Neck Preserve. There we will have a picnic made from local organic ingredients and have time for a well deserved swim. Across the lake we will have a beautiful view of our previous hike, Maiden Cliff. The water of Lake Megunticook is beautiful, clean, clear and perfect for swimming. This is one of my favorite local excursions and I am delighted to share it with you. Treat yourself to an amazing day, on a beautiful lake, with fantastic views, local food and great swimming!
Come on out and join the Runaways Run Club for a free, all levels 3.5 mile group run around the Back Cove Trail in Portland every Tuesday. This is an informal and fun group run, go at whatever pace you’d like, for first placers to first timers! We’re meeting at Payson Park at the parking lot nearest to the trail / Baxter Blvd and we’ll be taking off on the run no later than 6:05am, just FYI. See you there!
Families and kids are all welcome for a fun afternoon on the river. Meet at Brown Street Boat Launch where Friends of the Presumpscot River and professional river guides from Portland Paddle and Maine Path & Paddle Guides will have canoes, kayaks and stand up paddleboards to try for free! The event will include a neighborhood cookout by the river.
Yoga and Cancer classes are different from regular yoga classes you would typically find at your local studio. They are even different from classes that are called “gentle” or “restorative.” Yoga and Cancer was specifically designed to provide therapeutic benefits to cancer patients and survivors in a relaxed and supportive environment. Specific movements and postures along with mindful breathing and meditation techniques help manage stress and support the immune system. Yoga and Cancer will help you build strength, improve flexibility and range of motion and support the health of the cardiac and lymphatic systems.
1st class is FREE!!! Shine Dance fitness incorporates Jazz, Hip Hop, and Ballet all while dancing to today’s hits (think 97.9). My two favorite things about SHiNE: It’s FUN, and it’s YOURS! Every routine is easily modifiable to ANY fitness level. If you need low impact and small range of motion, SHiNE can be that. If you need killer cardio and deep booty squats, SHiNE can be that! If you need a great workout that feels like a party, SHiNE is definitely that! What are you waiting for??
