Join us for a weekly group run and pub social. We will meet at the Concourse in downtown Waterville near the back side of Key Bank. This is not a race or competitive event. We will go for a run of about 3 miles and then stop by one of the Waterville pubs. If enough people show up, we can split into multiple groups of different distances and/or speeds.
Join North Star Adventures LLC and Sweet Maple Corner Arts for a Sunrise Hike on the Summer Solstice
Our hiking destination will be Bald Rock Mountain located in Lincolnville, ME. The hike is approximately three miles round-trip. The first mile follows an old carriage road with a gentle incline. The last half mile takes you up the Bald Rock trail. You will be greeted with spectacular views of Penobscot Bay and islands that appear to float on the horizon waiting for the warmth of the sun.
At the summit we will be joined by Artist Rachel Littlefield, from Sweet Maple Corner Arts. She will be guiding us in the use of pastels to create beautiful drawings of the morning sky as the sun makes its first summer appearance.
Coffee, tea and some yummy baked goods will be served at the summit.
Departure time is 3:00 A.M. from the Bald Rock Trailhead on the Youngstown Rd. in Lincolnville. Sunrise is at 4:52 A.M.and the official Summer Solstice is at 6:09 A.M.
Welcome the summer sun from an incredible vantage point and create beautiful pastel drawings to celebrate the occasion.
We’re bringing back our weekly SUP paddles for our 2018 season! Starting on June 14 our staff will lead an early morning paddle from our site at the East End Beach every Thursday. It’s free to join with your own board or just $15 to rent one from us ($10 off the usual rate).
This weekly gathering is a casual paddle open to anyone with some SUP experience who feels comfortable and confident on a board. This isn’t a guided trip, so everyone is responsible for their own safety, but our staff are happy to share their knowledge of the sport. The group will stay on the water for about an hour and will pick a destination that fits the conditions and participants.

WHERE: Portland Paddle’s site at the East End Beach (look for our sign)
WHO: Anyone who is confident and comfortable paddling a SUP on Casco Bay with a group

Yoga and Cancer classes are different from regular yoga classes you would typically find at your local studio. They are even different from classes that are called “gentle” or “restorative.” Yoga and Cancer was specifically designed to provide therapeutic benefits to cancer patients and survivors in a relaxed and supportive environment. Specific movements and postures along with mindful breathing and meditation techniques help manage stress and support the immune system. Yoga and Cancer will help you build strength, improve flexibility and range of motion and support the health of the cardiac and lymphatic systems.
