Yoga and Cancer classes are different from regular yoga classes you would typically find at your local studio. They are even different from classes that are called “gentle” or “restorative.” Yoga and Cancer was specifically designed to provide therapeutic benefits to cancer patients and survivors in a relaxed and supportive environment. Specific movements and postures along with mindful breathing and meditation techniques help manage stress and support the immune system. Yoga and Cancer will help you build strength, improve flexibility and range of motion and support the health of the cardiac and lymphatic systems.

Boot camp uses interval, circuit, and aerobic training. It will burn fat, tone muscle, improve posture, build strength and endurance, and build confidence. You work out your arms, legs, and core using exercises that incorporate your whole body. Boot camp can get you into the best shape of your life. As one of my campers stated, “I am stronger, faster, and leaner”
A typical day includes a warm up, stretches, the ‘workout’, cool down, a possible game or challenge, and finishing stretches.

Boot camps varying routines are intense sessions that offer a variety of exercises, and challenge every muscle in your body. By rapidly moving from one exercise to the next, with minimal breaks, you can get a cardiovascular workout while simultaneously toning your muscles. And, you burn lots of calories. Its fun, varied, motivating, produces amazing results, and meets at a fantastic location.

Boot camp’s 45 minutes workouts allow you to do strength training and aerobic training in a single workout, which is very efficient when you have a limited time to work out.

WHAT? FREE outdoor sweat session. Workouts are scalable and FUN. The sweat session will challenge you, the atmosphere will change you.

Dress up in your best old-timey attire and climb on your bike for a leisurely ride through downtown Portland, the Back Cove and Deering Oaks Park! The ride is a slow pace (because bystanders are going to want to see this!) and there aren’t a lot of hills either.
This year the Tweed Ride is again partnering with the Gaslight League, an organization of supporters of Portland’s Victoria Mansion, in putting on this year’s Tweed Ride. After the usual ride through downtown Portland and pictures in Deering Oaks Park, we will proceed to the Victoria Mansion on Danforth Street, where riders will be greeted with a reception of hot and cold non-alcoholic drinks and snacks and free tours of the Mansion. Please join us!
