Join us for a full moon winter walk on Randall Orchards – the farm we helped protect as farmland forever. We will meet at the farm at sunset and head out to explore the 500-acres of conserved orchard and forest while watching the full moon rise.
After an hour guided walk, led by Master Naturalist, Jeanne Christie and Board President Mike Parker, we will end with hot cider from apples grown and pressed onsite at the orchard.
Limited space; RSVP required to email@example.com.
Explore the wonders of nature under the light of the full moon at Hidden Valley Nature Center. Let your eyes adjust to the ambient light, enjoy the shadows and the sounds of coyotes, owls, and the trees blowing in the wind. We’ll end the evening with a hot drink and camaraderie at one of the heated cabins. Meet at the gate promptly for a 2.5 mile trek to the pond for the full moon rising. Please no dogs. If you are borrowing our snowshoes, please make arrangements and arrive early for a fitting.
Enjoy the magic of winter with a full moon hike at the Emmons Preserve! KCT Board Member, Russ Grady, will lead the group on a moderate 3 mile hike on the Trust’s trails. There will be several opportunities to stop along the way and enjoy the glow of the moon. Weather will dictate gear (snow shoes, poles, winter clothes, etc…). While we hope to use the moon light, bringing a flash light or headlamp is always a good idea. Feel free to bring your beverage of choice to enjoy in the headquarters after the hike. Meet at our headquarters located at 57 Gravelly Brook Road in Kennebunkport at 8pm. Free, all welcome!
Thanks to C.A. Smith Photography for his full moon photo taken in the Smith Preserve.
Thursday, February 1st, 2018. Join us for our 7th annual full moon hike/social event atop Pisgah Hill in New Gloucester. Cars line Dougherty Road; in 2017 seventy-five members, neighbors, trustees, toddlers, grandparents and friends hiked the loop trail through the perfect amount of new snow, shared some cheer at the summit, toasted with hot cocoa, toasted marshmallows, and hooted at the big orange rising moon under the only three hours of clear sky all week.
We can’t wait to see you for our 7th annual, only a few moons away.
Join KLT for an afternoon of winter fun at the Curtis Winter Fun Day. Bring your cross-country skis, snowshoes, and sleds and spend the afternoon exploring this wonderful conservation property!
