Dress up in your best old-timey attire and climb on your bike for a leisurely ride through downtown Portland, the Back Cove and Deering Oaks Park! The ride is a slow pace (because bystanders are going to want to see this!) and there aren’t a lot of hills either.
This year the Tweed Ride is again partnering with the Gaslight League, an organization of supporters of Portland’s Victoria Mansion, in putting on this year’s Tweed Ride. After the usual ride through downtown Portland and pictures in Deering Oaks Park, we will proceed to the Victoria Mansion on Danforth Street, where riders will be greeted with a reception of hot and cold non-alcoholic drinks and snacks and free tours of the Mansion. Please join us!
Quads assemble! Another Sunday means another chance to crush it!
Meet at Coffee by Design in East Bayside, 8:30am as we’ll start and finish our run there. Post-run, meet around 10:15-10:30am at CBD for coffee and food. Invite a friend and we’ll throw down some miles, all paces welcome! Good vibes and high fives guaranteed.
Huphie Hauler Happy Hour is an inclusive group bike ride that meets each Monday at the Portland Gear Hub.
As the fall approaches, we’re going to leave earlier – at 5PM. It’s getting dark earlier, bring your brightest, most sparkly lights and high vis clothing.
Sign up to stay updated on rides!
Yoga and Cancer classes are different from regular yoga classes you would typically find at your local studio. They are even different from classes that are called “gentle” or “restorative.” Yoga and Cancer was specifically designed to provide therapeutic benefits to cancer patients and survivors in a relaxed and supportive environment. Specific movements and postures along with mindful breathing and meditation techniques help manage stress and support the immune system. Yoga and Cancer will help you build strength, improve flexibility and range of motion and support the health of the cardiac and lymphatic systems.
If you’ve ever said the phrase “I’m not strong enough.”, then this is the event for you.
The women of the Superhero Lady Armwrestlers of Portland* invite you to attend a unique workshop that offers a peek into the world of theatrical ladies armwrestling. Our instructors (state champions!) will show you techniques to give you a foundation to arm wrestle safely and powerfully, using your body to your advantage and making you a force to be reckoned! These techniques will be combined with an interactive character development portion to help you unlock the persona in you that is begging to be let out. Each attendent will receive an honorary wrestler name.
Whether you’ve been interested in joining the ranks of SLAP, you’re looking for a way to feel more powerful, or you just want a fun skill to pull out at parties…we want to help spread the joy of this sport and organization.
This event will be 100% free, so RSVP via Eventbrite as soon as possible to make sure you get a space!
*The Superhero Lady Armwrestlers of Portland (SLAP) are the local chapter of a national collective of women who armwrestle in character for the purpose of raising money for charity. We give stage and space for women to demonstrate strengths from all sources, while giving back to our community.
