Boot camp uses interval, circuit, and aerobic training. It will burn fat, tone muscle, improve posture, build strength and endurance, and build confidence. You work out your arms, legs, and core using exercises that incorporate your whole body. Boot camp can get you into the best shape of your life. As one of my campers stated, “I am stronger, faster, and leaner”
A typical day includes a warm up, stretches, the ‘workout’, cool down, a possible game or challenge, and finishing stretches.

Boot camps varying routines are intense sessions that offer a variety of exercises, and challenge every muscle in your body. ConvenientMD Urgent Care presents the 2nd Annual Run the Ridge Trail Race, hosted by Discover Downtown Westbrook and Sunset Ridge! This is a trail and mowed path course and should be bursting with autumn colors for this mid-October race. It’s a beautiful course with a few challenging spots. A great way to finish out a year of training! We have three races – 5K, 10K, and a “K9 5K” (run with your dog!).

Early bird registration is just $20 through the end of Labor Day weekend with discount code RTREARLY. You can also register at packet pickup on Friday, October 19 and on race day for $30 (cash/check) or $31 (credit/debit).

We’re headed back to where it all started 10 years ago! Join our military, veterans, police, fire, emt’s & the families of our fallen on Saturday, October 20th at Noon on beautiful Ogunquit Beach for an event you’ll never forget!

This incredible event takes place during the Ogunguit Chamber of Commerce’s 15th Annual OgunquitFest Weekend so they’ll be thousands on hand to watch our event! We’ve also partnered up with GoRuck if you’re looking for any gear you might need for the event!

The Ruck for our Fallen is a military-style ruck event which will take place on Ogunquit Beach. This event is to honor ALL of Maine’s Fallen Heroes and give their families a unique bonding experience.

We’re wicked excited to announce that registration for the 2018 Ruck for our Fallen is Open! We have (3) fitness levels so there is something for everyone to enjoy! Slick (Light), Tactical (not so easy), Heavy (where the fun starts!) Get your team together & challenge the others! We’re expecting people from near & far for this first of its kind annual event for our fallen heroes & their families. This event has something for every fitness level! Slick is actually a 5K walk & minimal pushups & situps at the end. It’s light and fairly easy!

This event is designed as an adult competition. Children under the age of 12 may participate at no cost. They will not be given a t-shirt at the end of the ruck. They will be given awards suitable for children. We’re not giving away free t-shirts. We hope you can understand that this is a charity event.

Team Ruck Competition: The key to this event is to do it as a team. We suggest a team of 4. 6 & 8 members. Team rucks help raise money for a good cause. They also build community relations and help us all share our love for one another.

Individual registrations are also welcome!

Registration Options:

Slick – No weight, walking/rucking

Slick means that you won’t be carrying a pack or any additional weight. You may want to use your empty pack to tote some water with you on the first leg of the ruck. At the end of your 5K Ruck you will be required to attempt 10 pushups & 10 sit-ups before completing the Slick level. All registered participants will receive a t-shirt and award upon completion.

Tactical – 7 lbs+ weight, walking/rucking

At the Tactical level you will be carrying a pack with additional weight in it. We aren’t checking weights, but would like all participants in this level to ruck with at least 10lbs. You may also want to tote some water with you and make sure you save some for the second leg of the ruck. At the end of your 10K Ruck you will be required to attempt 20 pushups & 20 sit-ups before completing the Tactical level. All registered participants will receive a t-shirt & finishers medal upon completion.

Heavy – 20 lbs+ weight, walking/rucking

The Heavy level requires you will be carrying a pack with at least 20lbs. in it. You may also want to tote some water with you and make sure you save some for the third leg of the ruck. At the end of your 15K Ruck you will be required to attempt 30 pushups, 30 sit-ups, 5 chin-ups, tire flip & sandbag drag before completing the Heavy level. Want to get away and devote a little time to your trail-running training?

Why not take advantage of cooler fall temperatures and the wilds of the Katahdin Woods and Waters area and make a weekend of it? Whether you are just looking for some exercise or training for an Ultra Marathon, runners of all experience levels are welcome!

Join Mike Downing, co-owner of Mt. Chase Lodge, and his former teammate Rob Gomez, of Eastern Shore Training and a RRCA-ceritified running coach, for a full weekend of running adventure. Arrive mid-afternoon on Friday to join him and your fellow adventurers for a shake-out run followed by a gourmet lakeside dinner. Following dinner there will be a roundtable discussion to introduce everyone, determine what people would like to get out of the weekend, and decide how many groups we may need split up into during runs. Afterwards, relax on the outdoor patio or stretch in the lodge that evening to be ready for the next day’s scenic run.

Saturday will include a healthy breakfast, a group steady-state run, and an afternoon of hiking, kayaking or stand-up paddle boarding. Bag lunches will be included for Saturday. Sunday morning will include a light breakfast before the weekend’s longest jaunt. All starting together, we will set out on a run with scenic views of the surrounding mountains and eventually split up to meet everyone’s long run goals. After the long run, cool off in Upper Shin Pond and celebrate with an ample brunch before you pack up to head home.

All participants will be expected to complete a brief questionnaire to determine experience levels.

Whether you are a professional rescuer or you enjoy spending time in the backcountry with friends and family this course is for you! You will learn to read and interpret the language of maps. After you feel confident in map reading we will help you to unlock the mystery of the compass. It is a simple but very effect tool that doesn’t rely on satellites or batteries. The final portion of the course is learning to use them together. We will set a course for you to navigate and test your skills.

The Maine woods are thick and can be featureless. Learning to trust your knowledge and your compass will open up a world of exploration. You will gain the skills to go into more remote locations with self-confidence!
