Santa Claus is coming to town and the elves will be working hard all day to get Waldoboro ready for his arrival. But it’s bound to be cold, so we’re organizing a 5K to get everyone’s blood moving and warm before Santa shows up.
So join us for our 2nd annual festive run through town. We’ll have hot chocolate and candy canes and Christmas lights and prizes (even one for the best dressed elf). Local businesses will be open late with hot drinks and snacks and things you can buy to finish off your Christmas shopping.
We’ll have Christmas-themed age group prizes. Plus, an Elf at the finish line to congratulate you on your run. And so many more prizes and giveaways to announce as we get closer to race day.
Registration is $15 until September 1st. $20 on race day. You can also register in advance at Long Winter Soap Co in the Village.
The Kid’s Run is free.
Walkers are always welcome!
Monies raised go toward efforts to revitalize and promote the historic Waldoboro Village.
If you skip this race, you’ll end up on the naughty list.
Kick off your year right by running, having specially brewed beer by Foulmouthed Brewing, and a great time at the inaugural Foulmouthed New Year’s Mile Run on January 1st, 2019 at noon!
After the race, each participant will receive a commemorative Foulmouthed New Years Glass Mug and each adult participant will receive one free craft beer pour into their hard earned mug!
Top 3 males and females will earn themselves a bit of glory and a CASH prize! Additionally the course will be a USATF Certified course.

Winter is my favorite time of year. I love the snow crystals as they sparkle in the sun, I love patterns and colors of the ice as the winter freeze takes hold of our lakes, waterways and forests and I love the silent beauty after a storm when the world is sleeping. You can learn to love winter. It’s about learning to embrace the beauty of the season. The hustle and bustle of summer has ended and the holiday extravagance season is over.
On Wednesday January 9th at 6:30pm I will be giving a presentation for the Sebasticook Regional Land Trust on my favorite places to ski and snowshoe in Maine. From walking out your backdoor to a more adventurous journey to Baxter State Park winter offers something for all fitness levels.
Learning to embrace the winter is key to living a fulfilling and healthful life in the North East.
$5.00 donation to Sebasticook Regional Land Trust suggested.
Spend a cozy weekend nestled in the Maine woods. I can’t imagine a more wonderful place to spend a winter weekend. Warm accomodations, great company, fantastic food, beautiful scenery and amazing skiing. All trails leave directly from our front door with many options for all comfort levels. Spend the day in a winter wonderland. At night star gazing and an outdoor fire will warm your heart and soul. Space is limited to five guests. Please register early to reserve your spot!
March is the perfect winter month! Daylight has started to return, the temperatures are reasonable and we have a lot of snow! Our winter weekend will take us to Rockwood Maine where we still stay in a rustic cabin on Moosehead Lake. We will be skiing on groomed trails and have the option (conditions permitting) to ski over to Kineo and ski around the base (or maybe hike to the top). Arrival time is 4:00pm on Friday…in time for dinner and perhaps a nighttime ski or snowshoe. All meals and accomodations are included. Designed for beginners and intermediate skiers.
