Midcoast Conservancy Biathlon @ Hidden Valley Nature Center
Mar 2 @ 8:30 am – 2:00 pm
Midcoast Conservancy Biathlon @ Hidden Valley Nature Center

Midcoast Conservancy will host its seventh annual Biathlon at Hidden Valley Nature Center in Jefferson. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate! Racers can compete individually or in teams of four, and everyone is encouraged to compete in costume.

All paintball rifles are provided by Midcoast Conservancy, and each racer will receive safety training on how to use the rifle. Snowshoe racers are welcome.

Races will begin about 9 am and continue into the early afternoon. All day long there will be bonfires, along with great food and Fancy Hot Chocolate from the Alna General Store. Spectators are encouraged. And consider volunteering if you’re not planning to race; we can always use extra hands!

Race categories are based on self-selected skill levels upon pre-race check in, and there is a special category for youth racers. Awards will be given out for best costume, best team name, and for youth and high school aged participants.

The Biathlon will held even if there is no snow; trail running will replace skiing in that case. Postponement for dangerous conditions only.

$35 for adults, $10 for kids and students. Register now to guarantee your spot. Space is limited and prices go up $5 per participant on Feb. 23rd. Day-of registrations as space provides. Any questions, call Midcoast Conservancy at (207) 389-5150.

The Moose on the Loose triathlon was conceived as a collaboration between TriME and the Meadows Golf Club to provide an opportunity to take advantage of the trails and club house of the Meadows Golf Club and world class operations of TriME to produce a winter triathlon the experienced triathlete and outdoor enthusiast will both enjoy. Proceeds will benefit the Litchfield Snowmobile Club.

Information will soon be added on a friendly, fun and free kids race (run or snowshoe a special loop just for the kids!).

Included with your entry: Race swag, great post race food and of course a scenic, safe, closed course through Litchfield, Maine.

Northwoods Winter Weekend @ Moosehead Lake
Mar 8 @ 3:00 pm – Mar 10 @ 3:00 pm
Northwoods Winter Weekend @ Moosehead Lake

March is the perfect winter month! Daylight has started to return, the temperatures are reasonable and we have a lot of snow! Our winter weekend will take us to Rockwood Maine where we still stay in a rustic cabin on Moosehead Lake. We will be skiing on groomed trails and have the option (conditions permitting) to ski over to Kineo and ski around the base (or maybe hike to the top). Arrival time is 4:00pm on Friday…in time for dinner and perhaps a nighttime ski or snowshoe. All meals and accomodations are included. Designed for beginners and intermediate skiers.
