Full Moon Paddle meetup @ Raymond Beach Boat launch
Jun 19 @ 6:30 pm
Full Moon Paddle meetup @ Raymond Beach Boat launch | Raymond | Maine | United States

The first of three of these popular paddles planned for 2016! We will meet up at the Raymond Beach boat launch in Raymond and take a loop around the north end of Jordan Bay of Sebago Lake. Remember to bring lights: glow sticks, flashlights, headlamps, etc! Moonrise should happen at 7:34, Sunset is 8:26, so the moon will rise just before it gets dark. We will enjoy a nice evening paddle and finish up just as darkness settles in. Being a Sunday night, we won’t plan to be out too late. Meet up at 6:30 and be underway by 7:00. We should be back at Raymond beach no later than 9:00. You’re certainly welcome to be out longer if you wish!

Trip cancellations will be e-mailed and posting removed at least two hours before trip start time.
For renting a kayak contact Sebago Trails Paddling directly at (207)894-4696 or sebagotrails@gmail.com. Special rate for this group are $20.00 includes boat, paddle, PFD and delivery to the launch site. ***PLEASE NOTE*** Any member of this meetup may organize a paddle meetup using this page. The organizers in this group are NOT trained leaders or instructors. The organizers only set the time and place; each person participating in any group trip is responsible for their own safety. Each participant is responsible for evaluating all relevant conditions for the trip and determining if their skills and equipment are appropriate for those conditions. Each participant is responsible for following Maine laws and regulations and conducting himself/herself in a safe manner.

Maine law requires that an approved PFD must be in your boat for each person in the boat; and when paddling between sunset and sunrise, a lantern, headlamp or flashlight showing a white light must “be at the ready” and be exhibited in time to prevent a collision.
Paddlers should always be aware of ever-changing weather conditions and make appropriate decisions regarding one’s safety.

We advise that each person participating in an event bring a spare set of clothes in a waterproof bag, as well as water, snack, sunscreen and insect repellent. A hat or visor and sunglasses are advisable for early evening paddles when the sun is low in the sky.

Full Moon SUP Meditation @ Cape Neddick Beach
Aug 14 @ 8:30 pm – 10:00 pm
Full Moon SUP Meditation @ Cape Neddick Beach

Join us Wednesday, August 14th to welcome the full moon on the water. We’ll begin with a short paddle out of Cape Neddick Beach, anchor down for some restorative stretching and finish with a guided meditation.

“The full moon on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at 22° Aquarius is opposite Venus. While your need for love and affection grows stronger, any underlying relationship tension is likely to worsen, increasing stress levels and causing drama.

The August 2019 full moon also brings the potential for anger, jealousy, intimidation, and impulsive actions. You may already be experiencing stress, anxiety and unexpected changes in your love life from the July 31 new moon. This highlights the need for patience, understanding, and unconditional love over the coming two weeks.

Full Moon Meaning
Sun opposite Moon brings your home, family and intimate relationships into sharper focus for the following two weeks of this moon phase. Opposing forces such as work versus home, or what you need versus what you want, create inner tension and external pressures. This can lead to conflict and crises that drain your energy.

The lunar qualities of emotions and instincts reach their peak at a full moon. So use your increased emotional strength and intuition to overcome any relationship challenges. Subconscious awareness allows for an impartial and balanced look at your personal relationships. You will clearly see any relationship dynamics or negative feelings causing disharmony.”

As the moon rises, lie back or stay seated on your SUP through a meditation that will help you look inward to cultivate a clear vision.

Cost with equipment: $40
Cost w/o equipment: $25

Headlamps, flashlights or SUP LED lighting for your paddleboard are absolutely necessary to bring! Only SUP, paddle, PFD & anchor provided.
