A typical day includes a warm up, stretches, the ‘workout’, cool down, a possible game or challenge, and finishing stretches.

Boot camps varying routines are intense sessions that offer a variety of exercises, and challenge every muscle in your body. By rapidly moving from one exercise to the next, with minimal breaks, you can get a cardiovascular workout while simultaneously toning your muscles. And, you burn lots of calories. Its fun, varied, motivating, produces amazing results, and meets at a fantastic location.

Boot camp’s 45 minutes workouts allow you to do strength training and aerobic training in a single workout, which is very efficient when you have a limited time to work out.

We begin with gentle movements to warm the body. This part of the practice includes gliding and circular motions to release tension from areas of congestion and restriction in the body. You are introduced to slower movements of the body in preparation for more movement in the form of Vinyasa. We transition into standing postures to begin to cultivate stability and strength. Props are utilized in the practice as support. The combination of these gentle movements and postures leads to the cultivation of a strong, flexible body.

By the light of the evening sky, escape into the tranquil, snow-covered landscape on this relaxing Starlight Cross-Country Ski Tour. You’ll begin the evening with a step-by-step introduction to the basic techniques for enjoying this invigorating aerobic activity. Our expert instructors will teach you how to stride, pole and turn, plus give you friendly advice and tips on navigating different types of terrain.

You’ll then practice what you’ve learned on a three-hour guided ski excursion on our groomed trails at Fogg Farm in Freeport. Along the way, your guides will share their knowledge of the wildlife that thrives in this winter environment. After enjoying the scenery and refreshing winter air, you’ll be treated to rich hot cocoa and some tasty snacks. We’ll also provide all the necessary cross-country ski equipment for this exceptional adventure.

The room is heated up to 80 degrees. During summer months, the heat is not on. We work a nature’s heat. This class is great for a good sweat!

Each class is unique and each class targets a peak pose through intelligent sequencing. The class is led with intention as you are properly prepared for the apex of the practice. We work with foundational and primary poses in each practice.

The practice session allows the body to open slowly, not to overload the nervous system, and in exchange, tension, stress, and congestion that has been stored in the muscles and joints now has the opportunity to release. We also work to create strength in the body as we begin to embrace longer holds and include movement. In leaving a class one should have a feeling of stability, strength and a connection to the body.

This class is a dynamic practice. No yoga experience is necessary, as modifications are offered.

About your Instructor: Laurie Chadbourne believes that we all come to yoga with different needs and goals and sometimes we may not even know why we are arriving upon the mat. Yoga calls us in and guides us. Her intention is to create a safe, supportive practice that is accessible for everyone, at every age and every stage of life. She aspires to lead you through compassionate, judgment free, lighthearted classes linking breath and movement as she embarks on the journey of teaching. Robert A. Come together for a wintertime frolic with Acadia Mountain Guides & MYA! We’ll spend the weekend opting outside for ice climbing, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing with sweet accommodations at Mahoosuc Mountain Lodge.

The adventure will begin at the traditional New England timberframe lodge in the beautiful Bear River Valley of Newry. One mile from Grafton Notch State Park, the Mahoosuc Mountain Lodge views are dominated by the 3500-4000′ peaks of the Mahoosuc Range.

Adventurers will enjoy plenty of hearty, healthy vegetarian food and yoga practices to help maximize outdoor fun. Everyone will share cozy bunk room lodging and MYA trip leaders will be working their magic in the large kitchen area serving up tasty breakfasts and dinners.

A challenging and satisfyingly full weekend of outdoor explorations is in store for adventurers. Acadia Mountain Guides will help guide us through ice climbing, snowshoeing, and possibly cross-country skiing as well. AMG always delivers professional, state-of-the-art instruction by highly skilled and very fun guides.

The guides will tailor our climbing experience to our level. Beginners welcome! No worries about gear, Acadia Mountain Guides provide Double Boots, Crampons/Micro Spikes, Technical Ice Axes, Harness, Helmet, and anything else you could possibly need to make the bliss of ice climbing happen.

We’ll follow up ice climbing with snowshoe hiking which is always wicked fun in such a gorgeous locale. Fingers crossed for piles and piles of snow! If you don’t have snowshoes, the guides will provide them. If you have cross-country skis, bring them, if conditions are good we’ll definitely hit the trails. If you don’t have skis, MYA will help rent them.

Camden Hills is the gem of Mid-Coast Maine. Spectacular hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, paddling, mountain biking and climbing make this a fantastic multi-sport destination. On Saturday February 9th join North Star Adventures for a Camden Hills Snowshoe Adventure. We will begin our journey from Maiden Cliff Trailhead at 9:00am for a full-day adventure along the ridge trail to Ocean Lookout. The complete loop back to the Maiden Cliff parking lot is 6 miles. This is one of my favorite winter snowhoe loops. You will have fantastic views of Lake Megunticook and Penobscot Bay on the hike out to Ocean Lookout. As we drop down and and complete the loop you will have incredible views of the cliffs and streams that run along the base of Megunticook. This is an intermediate trip, you must be in good physical conditon.

The room is heated up to 80 degrees. During summer months, the heat is not on. We work a nature’s heat. This class is great for a good sweat!

Each class is unique and each class targets a peak pose through intelligent sequencing. The class is led with intention as you are properly prepared for the apex of the practice. We work with foundational and primary poses in each practice.

The practice session allows the body to open slowly, not to overload the nervous system, and in exchange, tension, stress, and congestion that has been stored in the muscles and joints now has the opportunity to release. We also work to create strength in the body as we begin to embrace longer holds and include movement. In leaving a class one should have a feeling of stability, strength and a connection to the body.

This class is a dynamic practice. No yoga experience is necessary, as modifications are offered.

In this class we slow things down. We begin each practice with slow stretching of the body and preparing the body for movement in the form of Vinyasa. We make our transition into fluid movement at a slower pace, then winding down and easing into restorative. Practicing poses from this easeful state will help develop balance, strength, and resiliency and create a nourishing and rejuvenating experience of yoga.

Boot camp uses interval, circuit, and aerobic training. It will burn fat, tone muscle, improve posture, build strength and endurance, and build confidence. You work out your arms, legs, and core using exercises that incorporate your whole body. Boot camp can get you into the best shape of your life. As one of my campers stated, “I am stronger, faster, and leaner”
A typical day includes a warm up, stretches, the ‘workout’, cool down, a possible game or challenge, and finishing stretches.

Boot camps varying routines are intense sessions that offer a variety of exercises, and challenge every muscle in your body. By rapidly moving from one exercise to the next, with minimal breaks, you can get a cardiovascular workout while simultaneously toning your muscles. And, you burn lots of calories. Its fun, varied, motivating, produces amazing results, and meets at a fantastic location.

Boot camp’s 45 minutes workouts allow you to do strength training and aerobic training in a single workout, which is very efficient when you have a limited time to work out.
