Paces for PAWS @ Belfast Rail Trail

Paces for PAWS is a dog friendly event so please bring your best canine companions to participate in the festivities (don’t forget leashes, please)! With this event, we hope to provide an opportunity for people of all ages in our community to help homeless and abandoned animals receive the medical care, shelter and companionship they need until their forever homes are found.

Event check-in will begin at 7:30 AM, with the 5k Race beginning at 8:30 AM. If running isn’t your thing, you can still join in on the fun! The 1 mile Family Fun Pledge Walk will begin at 9:30 AM (please arrive for check-in by 9:00 AM). Walk with your dogs, kids or friends; come out in silly hats or costumes; make it your own and most importantly, have some fun!

Come join us! Enjoy the outdoors with your 2 & 4 legged friends and support a good cause. We look forward to seeing you there!

This event is the second of six events in the RunBelfast 2019 race series held in Belfast, Maine (more at https://www.runbelfast.org/). You can register for each one individually or can sign up for all six at one reduced price! The series includes: Pendleton 5K + 5 M on the Rail Trail – June 1; Paces for PAWS 5K and 1 Mile Family Walk – Jun 22; Rotary Kilted Canter 5K – Jul 20; Rotary Bug Run 5K – August 17; YMCA Pancake Triple Stack 1 Mile Kids’ Run, 5K, and 10K – Sep 15; Rollie’s Run for Kids 5K – October 5. “Where the Pleats Meet the Streets”

The long-standing tradition of a Maine Celtic Celebration 5K road race continues with this year’s running of the 7th Annual Kilted Canter 5K Run/Walk. Wear a kilt and join in the Celtic Celebration weekend festivities. Sponsored by the Belfast Rotary Club, the race continues to be run on the same relatively flat course as in the past, through the lovely, picturesque, and proudly historic neighborhoods of Belfast, Maine. Awards will be given to the top overall female and male runners and to the top male and female runners in each of nine age groups from pre-teen through 80+. And the Kilted Canter 5K Run/Walk is only the beginning! Please visit the Celtic Celebration for great music and activities at the Belfast Common, Friday thru Sunday, July 19-21, 2019.
