Pisgah Hill Full Moon Trek @ Pisgah Hill

Pisgah Hill Full Moon Trek @ Pisgah Hill

Join as many as a hundred RRCT members, neighbors, trustees, toddlers, grandparents and friends to hike the loop trail, share some cheer at the summit, sip hot cocoa, toast marshmallows, and hoot or howl at the big orange rising moon.

This year brings RRCT’s 8th annual mountain-top moonrise trek and bonfire. All the fun happens at Pisgah Hill Preserve, 74 Dougherty Road, New Gloucester near the Pownal town line.

The sun sets at 5:20 pm and the moon rises a few minutes later. Plan to start you hike between 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm and plan on 30 solid minutes of hiking time on this 1.5 mile lollipop-style loop trail (1 mile loop with a 0.5 mile stick). The trail is well-marked and typically lighted with luminaries for the return. Gentle elevation rise and a rickety bridge on the trail requires some effort; assistance for the elderly or toddlers may be required for one or two steep ledge steps. Bring snowshoes, poles, a flashlight or headlamp, blanket, water, and lots of good cheer. We’ll provide marshmallows and more. The trailhead has a small parking lot which fills quickly. Most vehicles line the shoulder of Dougherty Road. Click here for Preserve details and maps.

They are even different from classes that are called “gentle” or “restorative.” Yoga and Cancer was specifically designed to provide therapeutic benefits to cancer patients and survivors in a relaxed and supportive environment. Specific movements and postures along with mindful breathing and meditation techniques help manage stress and support the immune system. Yoga and Cancer will help you build strength, improve flexibility and range of motion and support the health of the cardiac and lymphatic systems.

Full Moon Hike @ Hidden Valley Nature Center

Midcoast Conservancy will offer a full moon hike (or snowshoe) at Hidden Valley Nature Center in Jefferson. Enjoy a crisp evening illuminated by the glow of the moon and discover a new way of being in the woods. At night, sounds become more pronounced; listen for owls and the rustling of nighttime foragers along the trail.
Meet at the gate at HVNC at 6:50 pm. Dress warmly, wear shoes with good grips and a hiking stick if desired, snack, drink and flashlight or headlamp. Your guide will lead the hike to shore of Little Dyer Pond, to watch the moon rise over the water. The hike will be about 40 minutes each way, and of moderate ease. Snowshoes are available by reservation, or bring your own, if we have snow.
