Join us for Cranksgiving 2019!

Cranksgiving is a fun bike-based food drive/scavenger hunt.

Started in NYC, there are Cranksgiving events around the country (read more about it here: Called “a food drive on two wheels,” the Portland event will gather food donations for the Westbrook Food Bank. And you’ll have a grand time in the process.

Riders will meet at Portland Gear Hub on Washington Ave. There, everyone will get a grocery list and a list of stores/markets in the area. You’ll ride from store to store buying the food (expect ingredients from a traditional Thanksgiving meal) and aim to be the first to return with the goods. You don’t have to race, though – this ride is open to those who want to race and those who’d prefer to meander. You can ride as a team or solo, too. And bonus points for biking with a turkey.

No need to register in advance – just show up the day of the event. There’s no registration fee to participate, just the cost of the groceries you’ll buy (around $15-$20, give or take).

Whatever your pace, please come ride your bike and collect food for the Westbrook Food Pantry.

+ We’ll end at local brewery Rising Tide!
