Friday, January 25th 4pm-9pm at Lost Valley. $10 Snow Tubing in the Maine Family Snow Tube Park. 1-Hour Sessions on the hour starting at 4pm, Beat the crowd and come early Peak time slots are 6-8 and there are no guarantees you will get a slot in a session as we have a maximum capacity in the park.

Session Hours are 4p, 5p. 6p, 7p, 8p. This event features a FREE Bonfire & $1 Hot Chocolates. Torch Light Parade & Fireworks display to follow at 9pm presented by Spectrum healthcare Partners.. Live Music from Farmhouse Project in the lodge 7pm-10pm. Check out the full schedule of Auburn Winter Festival planned activities.

1) tubes are provided with the ticket cost
2) you cannot bring your own Tube
3) there is a 42” height requirement and only 1 person allowed per Tube
4) there is no sledding allowed and tubing is allowed only in the Maine Family Snow Tube Park
5) max 100 tubers allowed per session
6) Event runs 4p-9p with sessions starting and ending on the hour each hour
7) tubes are pulled to the top of the park with rider in it with our handle tow system

Lost Valley Winter Duathlon @ Lost Valley Ski Area'

Baxter Outdoors continues the Packed Powder Series with a stop at Lost Valley Ski Area in Auburn, Maine and part of the Auburn Winter Fest. This classic local ski hill with over 10km of cross country ski trails will play host as we snowshoe and nordic ski our way through the woods of central Maine.

The race can be tackled as a solo 5km snowshoe, solo 10km duathlon, or team 10km duathlon. The 5km snowshoe course will take place on single track trails throughout the woods. The nordic course will be set on the Auburn Nordic Ski Association trails behind Lost Valley Ski Area.

XC Skiers will race first at 9:00am. Duathlon teams will transition directly into their snowshoe leg. Solo snowshoers will begin at 9:05am

All races will start and finish near the Lost Valley base lodge.

By the light of the evening sky, escape into the tranquil, snow-covered landscape on this relaxing Starlight Cross-Country Ski Tour. You’ll begin the evening with a step-by-step introduction to the basic techniques for enjoying this invigorating aerobic activity. Our expert instructors will teach you how to stride, pole and turn, plus give you friendly advice and tips on navigating different types of terrain.

You’ll then practice what you’ve learned on a three-hour guided ski excursion on our groomed trails at Fogg Farm in Freeport. Along the way, your guides will share their knowledge of the wildlife that thrives in this winter environment. After enjoying the scenery and refreshing winter air, you’ll be treated to rich hot cocoa and some tasty snacks. We’ll also provide all the necessary cross-country ski equipment for this exceptional adventure.

The Maine Pond Hockey Classic was established in 2013 with the goal of becoming the biggest and best pond hockey style tournament in the State of Maine. Located in Central Maine; originally on China Lake, now hosted on Snow Pond (Sidney, Maine) and minutes off I-95, the Maine Pond Hockey Classic is perfectly positioned to attract teams from all over Maine and beyond.

We aim to provide and exceptional experience for everyone involved with the tournament and make the Maine Pond Hockey Classic a tournament that represents everything that is great about winter in the Northeast!

Come together for a wintertime frolic with Acadia Mountain Guides & MYA! We’ll spend the weekend opting outside for ice climbing, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing with sweet accommodations at Mahoosuc Mountain Lodge.

The adventure will begin at the traditional New England timberframe lodge in the beautiful Bear River Valley of Newry. One mile from Grafton Notch State Park, the Mahoosuc Mountain Lodge views are dominated by the 3500-4000′ peaks of the Mahoosuc Range.

Adventurers will enjoy plenty of hearty, healthy vegetarian food and yoga practices to help maximize outdoor fun. Everyone will share cozy bunk room lodging and MYA trip leaders will be working their magic in the large kitchen area serving up tasty breakfasts and dinners.

A challenging and satisfyingly full weekend of outdoor explorations is in store for adventurers. Acadia Mountain Guides will help guide us through ice climbing, snowshoeing, and possibly cross-country skiing as well. AMG always delivers professional, state-of-the-art instruction by highly skilled and very fun guides.

The guides will tailor our climbing experience to our level. Beginners welcome! No worries about gear, Acadia Mountain Guides provide Double Boots, Crampons/Micro Spikes, Technical Ice Axes, Harness, Helmet, and anything else you could possibly need to make the bliss of ice climbing happen.

We’ll follow up ice climbing with snowshoe hiking which is always wicked fun in such a gorgeous locale. Fingers crossed for piles and piles of snow! If you don’t have snowshoes, the guides will provide them. If you have cross-country skis, bring them, if conditions are good we’ll definitely hit the trails. If you don’t have skis, MYA will help rent them.

Yoga practices will definitely happen throughout the weekend and the food will be healthy, delicious and vegetarian!

Camden Hills is the gem of Mid-Coast Maine. Spectacular hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, paddling, mountain biking and climbing make this a fantastic multi-sport destination. On Saturday February 9th join North Star Adventures for a Camden Hills Snowshoe Adventure. We will begin our journey from Maiden Cliff Trailhead at 9:00am for a full-day adventure along the ridge trail to Ocean Lookout. The complete loop back to the Maiden Cliff parking lot is 6 miles. This is one of my favorite winter snowhoe loops. You will have fantastic views of Lake Megunticook and Penobscot Bay on the hike out to Ocean Lookout. As we drop down and and complete the loop you will have incredible views of the cliffs and streams that run along the base of Megunticook. This is an intermediate trip, you must be in good physical conditon.

You’ll then practice what you’ve learned on a three-hour guided ski excursion on our groomed trails at Fogg Farm in Freeport. After enjoying the scenery and refreshing winter air, you’ll be treated to rich hot cocoa and some tasty snacks. Join as many as a hundred RRCT members, neighbors, trustees, toddlers, grandparents and friends to hike the loop trail, share some cheer at the summit, sip hot cocoa, toast marshmallows, and hoot or howl at the big orange rising moon.

This year brings RRCT’s 8th annual mountain-top moonrise trek and bonfire. All the fun happens at Pisgah Hill Preserve, 74 Dougherty Road, New Gloucester near the Pownal town line.

The sun sets at 5:20 pm and the moon rises a few minutes later. Plan to start you hike between 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm and plan on 30 solid minutes of hiking time on this 1.5 mile lollipop-style loop trail (1 mile loop with a 0.5 mile stick). The trail is well-marked and typically lighted with luminaries for the return. Gentle elevation rise and a rickety bridge on the trail requires some effort; assistance for the elderly or toddlers may be required for one or two steep ledge steps. Bring snowshoes, poles, a flashlight or headlamp, blanket, water, and lots of good cheer. We’ll provide marshmallows and more. The trailhead has a small parking lot which fills quickly.
