We say "ugly sweater," but between the yoga Santas, holiday llamas, bows, bells, antler headbands, and Christmas onesies, I'd say these were some the best dressed folks I'd ever seen. The Ugly Sweater 5K & Merry Mile is part of the Very Merry Falmouth weekend celebration hosted by Falmouth300 and Town of Falmouth.
Santas on the slopes! Despite the rain, a couple hundred Santas spent the day skiing and snowboarding at Sunday River on Sunday for the annual Santa Sunday, which raised $4,000 for The River Fund. And to spread holiday cheer, because that's what Santa do!

Running humans and running dogs took to the trails Saturday at Sunset Ridge in Westbrook during the Run the Ridge Trail Race organized by Discover Downtown Westbrook. The course took runners and walkers along a tree-lined trail and mowed path - and the sun even showed its face for a bit.
The annual Peaks to Portland swim is a 2.4-mile open water swim from Peaks Island to East End Beach in Portland. Every year, hundreds of swimmers take to the water to accomplish this impressive feat and raise much-needed funds for the YMCA of Southern Maine.
The finish line was filled with proud smiles - from kids and parents alike - during the inaugural Portland Kids Duathlon, which took place in Bayside on July 15.

EVO Rock + Fitness Portland was packed with women climbers Friday night during the Strong Women Summit. There were free climbing clinics, yoga, gear rentals, beer, and loads of cool giveaways. But the coolest part was seeing so many women trying climbing for the first time.
There were planks and squats and partner sit-ups during the sheJAMs Power of SHE 5K Boot Camp on the field at Thompson's Point yesterday. Participants also did a series of 3-minute runs, which added up to a 5K. So 5K + boot camp = an active morning well spent!
