You can do yoga on a mat. You can also do yoga on a mat on a sailboat.

Maine Sailing Adventures announced last week that they’ll be hosting Yoga Sails again on Sunday afternoons this summer. Yoga instructors from Lila East End Yoga in Portland and Willard Beach Studio in South Portland will lead the practice aboard Frances, a stunning 74-foot gaff-top cutter.

These yoga sails fill up fast, and for good reason. It’s yoga. On a sailboat!

Next Yoga Sail is July 26 from noon to 4 p.m., then Aug. 2, Aug.9, Aug. 23,

The cost is $80. You’ll bring your own mat and other essentials. Last I knew, wine and beer were available for purchase as well, so bring some cash. Because nothing caps off a glorious afternoon of yoga on a sailboat on the waters of Casco Bay quite like a glass of white. Or whatever you’re into.

For more info or to register, check out Maine Sailing Adventures’ Day Sail page or give them a call at 207-749-9169.

Holding a pose is slightly more challenging on a boat, even when the boat is anchored (which it will be). Still, that's half the fun.
