Come spend the afternoon learning how to cross-country ski! In Part 2 of this two-part series, coaches will show you how the basics of shuffling, gliding, and turning. Don’t expect a boring lecture or intimidating skill tests. We’ll play lots of games! After our skill-building session, we’ll go out on the trail to practice our new-found skills and discover a great way to get outside in the winter! Conclude the evening by defrosting at the warming hut.
Bring plenty of water and snacks as this is a deceitfully tiresome activity! Attendance to Part 1 is not required to participate in Part 2. This is a free community event of the Skowhegan AmeriCorps Outdoor Recreation Program (SAORP) of Main Street Skowhegan in collaboration with Lakewood Golf Course and the Jim Browne Foundation, who have graciously sponsored admission fees! However, donations are welcomed.
