Most gyms and fitness studios have rightfully shut their doors to in-person classes to slow the spread of coronavirus. You’ve probably noticed, unless maybe you haven’t been to the gym in a while. In that case, now is probably a good time to acquire a fitness routine, both because it’s good for your health and also to prevent yourself from going downright stir crazy in your living room in the coming weeks.
Those closures are a tough decision for small business owners to make (which includes most every gym/studio on this list), so here’s a roundup of Maine yoga/barre studios, CrossFit boxes, personal trainers, and gyms offering home workouts – some live streaming classes, some youtube or vimeo classes you can watch any time. If you’re in a position to pay for classes or purchase a membership, do it. That’ll help ensure all of them are around on the other side of this.
Exercise yourself, take care of each other. And yes, it’s true, if you want to place a bowl of tater tots on your mat as motivation to keep moving, no one will see you. Win.
+ This list is by no means comprehensive, of course. Thanks to everyone who shared helpful info with me.
