Introducing the My First Time series! Let’s go do that thing you’ve always wanted to do!

You know that thing you’ve always wanted to try? That trapeze class or paddleboard lesson or maybe you just want to finally learn to ride that mountain bike that’s been in the basement for 5 years?

Well I want to help you make it happen. As in, I want to take you to go to the thing, be your wingperson, and turn that “someday I’d like to,” into “today I did.” And I want to video the whole thing.

I’m so excited to be working with Spectrum Healthcare Partners on our shared mission to get folks active. And we’re kicking off our collaboration with a sweet video series called My First Time.

Here’s how it works:

You tell me about that activity you’ve been eyeballing from a distance. (POST A COMMENT ON FACEBOOK HERE.) Maybe you’re interested in trying yoga, rock climbing, skiing, surfing, paddleboarding, mountain biking, weight training, swing dancing, aerials, or indoor cycling.

Whatever it is, I want to hear about it.

We’ll pick a few people who’ll help us kick off this video series and I will take you to go do the thing you’ve been wanting to do. We’ll team up with local businesses to get you a beginner class or lesson, and I’ll be there whole while to cheer you on, tell you how awesome you are…and take video.

Not only will you get to try something amazing and new, but it’ll help encourage others to maybe give it a shot, too. Because trying new things can be scary, but the moments when we challenge ourselves make for the best memories and stories – even if you’re not totally perfect at it the first time around (spoiler: no one is)!

I don't like "exercise" any more than you do. But you know what I do like? Paddleboarding with a friend all afternoon (and then sitting in the grass to drink chardonnay). Bike rides and nachos, hikes, yoga classes held in breweries, group paddles to Fort Gorges, you get the idea. Because Maine is my gym.
