This is cool: It’s a weekend on Mount Katahdin, with plenty of hiking, camping and some cocktails. That’s right. Cocktails.
I found out about the small-group adventure when I met Kendra, who does the barn bootcamp in Harpswell. Turns out she’s also planning to put together a bunch of women-only fitness weekends this summer, and this is the first.
The weekend starts Friday evening, June 12, with a bonfire and dinner at camp in Brownville. Saturday is an early rise and hiking all day, followed by well-earned cocktails, dinner and another bonfire (every night should end with a bonfire, always). And Sunday, wake up for yoga or meditation before heading back home.
The cost of the weekend is $165 and includes two healthy breakfasts, two healthy lunches, two healthy dinners and plenty of snacks and water for the weekend. Plus the cost of the camp. And let’s not forget those cocktails.
Plus you’ll get to hang out with a group of like-minded ladies, revel in nature and have a certified personal trainer at your disposal. (Ask her what the proper form is when bench pressing a bear. Because you might need to know.)
You’ll be staying at a private summer camp in Brownville with access to Schoodic Lake. There are a handful of beds, room for air mattress and space for tenting outside.
At last check, there were still a few spots open. It’s a chance to burn some calories while embracing Maine’s stunning outdoors. Win win.
