SNOW. We tend to have feelings about it. (Generally those feelings fall into one of two opposing but equally forceful categories: 1. Woooohoooo or 2. NO. No no no no.)
If you’re in the first category, then this list will only serve to bolster your natural enthusiasm. If you’re in the second, then maybe, just maybe, it’ll show you snow’s silver lining – and all the good adventure it brings (school closings, hazardous roads, and shoveling not included).
Here are just some of the many reasons to be happy for snow:

We can take the SnowCoach up and snowshoe down Mt. Washington’s Auto Road

We can go for a winter hike and then decompress (and sweat) in a sauna at Nurture Through Nature, Denmark

We can cross-country ski all day and then sleep in cozy cabins on Moosehead Lake at The Birches Resort in Rockwood

We can hike with goats at Ten Apple Farm in Gray

We can ski on the blissful trails at the Fort Kent Outdoor Center

We can ski, swim and sauna all in one afternoon at Bethel Inn Resort

We can enjoy a plendid snowshoe at Cathance River Preserve in Topsham (beer at Flight Deck after)!

We can cross-country skiing under the lights at Titcomb Mountain, Farmington

We can learn to skate ski at a number of venues around Maine

We can revel in winter Acadia with XC skiing, snowshoeing & the perfect amount of solitude

We can climb ice with Equinox Guiding Service in Camden

We can XC ski & snowshoe (borrow gear for free) at Roberts Farm Preserve in Norway

We can XC Ski through apple orchards at Five Fields Farm in Bridgton

We can ice skate (and then go have hot toddies and beer close by)
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Come on, snow!
