5th Annual Pants on Fire 5k

9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 9. Abbott Park, Park Drive, Winterport. $20.
ll proceeds will be divided between the Winterport Fire and Rescue Association and the Winterport Rec Department, to be used for upgrades to Abbott Park. Post race festivities will include a beer tent (all participants 21+ receive one FREE beer as part of your registration), live entertainment and kids activities. Our race is both pet friendly and stroller friendly so bring the entire family!

Millinocket Century Ride

8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Millinocket. No registration fee.
This is an informal, self-guided ride in and around Millinocket (ie, there won’t be support stations along the way, although you are encouraged to make pit stops for food and drink at local businesses along the way). Route options will be provided, and it’s a solid excuse to ride in Millinocket at whatever pace you’d like.

Sunday Sunrise SUP Yoga

8 a.m. Sunday. York Harbor, York. $40.
Yoga is nice exercise, so there’s that, but you also get to hang out on the water, which is the real treat. Koan Wellness in York is the first dedicated paddleboard yoga business in Maine, and founder Katie Johnson offers SUP yoga classes on most Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays all summer. No experience necessary and everything’s provided!

Maine Women’s Ride

7 a.m. Sunday, June 10. L.L.Bean Discovery Park, Freeport. $25-$60.
Choose your distance: 10, 25, 50, or 62 miles of beautiful views of the coast and countryside around Freeport. The event offers a friendly, supportive atmosphere geared toward girls and women of all ages and abilities. There are rest stops, healthy snacks and support vehicles along the way. Afterward, you’ll be welcomed with music, lunch, and a party.

Maine Roller Derby Tryouts

4:30-6:30 p.m. Sunday. Happy Wheels, Portland. $10 cash.
If you’ve been watching Maine Roller Derby and thinking, “That looks cool, I’d like to do that,” this is your chance. You don’t have to be a perfect skater to try out – those skills will come later through training and practice. Some competency on skates is necessary, of course, but this is a cool opportunity to possibly become part of this awesome team.
